The First Phase of the New Hospital of Fuzhou Maternity and Child Health Hospital Officially Capped

On the morning of September 21, with the completion of concrete pouring, the construction of the new hospital of Fuzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital was successfully completed. Chen Xinxu(deputy director of the Municipal Health and Family Planning Commission), Zhao Shiqiao(deputy general manager of the Municipal Urban and Rural Construction Development Co., Ltd.), persons in charge of project supervision, construction, design and geological investigation and hospital staff representatives were invited to attend the topping ceremony.

As a crucial project of Fuzhou from 2016 to 2018, a critical Fuzhou’s "people's livelihood" promotion project, a key medical project of Fuzhou during the 13th Five-Year Plan, a provincial-level priority project in 2018, the construction the project started on November 20, 2016 and lasted for nearly one year and ten months. It is estimated that the project will be completed and put into use in the first half of 2020. By then, it will effectively alleviate the difficulties of Fuzhou women and children in hospitalization, especially the shortage of beds of obstetrics and pediatrics.

At the topping-out ceremony, Dean Xia Yong made a inspiring speech, reviewing the decades of hospital development and expressing heartfelt gratitude to the hospital staff who have worked hard for all of this and people from all walks of life who have cared and supported maternal and child health for a long time. In the future, the goal of the Maternal and Child Health Hospital will be to integrate health care, treatment and rehabilitation, accelerate transformation and upgrading of the hospital system, create a full life cycle medical and health service environment for Fuzhou women and children.
